Oh my darling blog, how I’ve neglected you over the past couple of months! I’m not proud of this at all BUT in my defense I have been super busy. Still not a good excuse, but it’s the truth people! I’ve spend the last 6 weeks teaching Animation Voice acting in 4 different high schools (Jarvis Collegiate, Mayfield, Crescent and Branksome Hall), coaching, producing voice demos and playing the role of Gretchen for Camp Lakebottom. What a whirlwind!

I’m totally pumped for VPS student Ashley Magwood. Over the last few months, I worked with Ashley on building technique and creating characters that fit her voice range. We prepped  for not only 1 but 2 voice demos (Animation and Commercial) just last week. Only a few short days later, Ashley had a meeting with LeFeaver Talent and signed on with them for voice representation! How inspiring is that?!

The good news keeps rollin’ in!

First up, Andrew Cromwell (featured above) books the role of  ’Puppy’ on the animated series FUZZY TAILS currently in development.

Then Allan Turner (below) snags multiple male roles on an interactive app (the title, to be released soon!).

I’m so excited for you both and super impressed by your hard work and talent!

6-WEEK CARTOON CLASS FOR ADULTS

Dates: September 12, 19, 26 and October 3, 10 & 17 2012
Location: MCS Recording Studios- 550 Queen St. East
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (18 hours)
Class Size: Max 10 Students
Cost: $549 + HST

CLASS TOPICS:

• Microphone Technique, Character Work, Taking Direction, Auditioning & Demo Info
• Deconstructing cartoon scripts
• Creating new and original characters
• How to record as an ensemble
• How to execute an audition read with great shape, pacing and delivery
• Auditioning for multiple parts in one show
• How to use energy levels, accents and speech quirks
• All work will be recorded on a c.d. for you to take home

She’s got rasp, spunk and super speed. Carly Herffernan’s extensive improv and sketch experience definitely shows when she gets in the booth.  She is playful and is not afraid to follow every impulse.  It’s the kind of thing where she DOES first and THINKS later!  Carly’s comedic timing and ability to switch modes effortlessly makes her characters unpredictable and totally engaging. You can seen more of this funny gal at Second City Toronto on the main stage pretty much every night of the week!
